Yoga & longevity lifestyle retreat
MAY, 5th – 9th
In the mountain villages of Ogliastra, reaching 100 is part of everyday life. Long life here isn’t built on protocols. It comes from walking the hills, eating simply and seasonally, staying close to family, and never rushing lunch.
For five days, you’ll step into that rhythm. Twice a day you’ll practise yoga with Wendy, in a round wooden shala or on a terrace facing the sea. In between, Annacarla Denti will take you inside the community: to a shepherd’s farm, to the village of the world’s longest-lived family, to the mountains where our elders gathered the herbs they used to care for themselves.
You’ll go home stronger, rested, and with simple, practical habits to live the Blue Zone way, wherever you are.
You don’t travel to learn a longevity protocol. You travel to experience a different way of life.
Moments you’ll take home
A DAY WITH THE SHEPHERD
Walk with the goats, make cheese by hand and share lunch with his family.
YOGA WITH WENDY TWICE A DAY
Morning and evening sessions with Wendy in the round wooden shala or on the terrace facing the sea.
THE HERBS AND PASTA OF OUR ELDERS
A mountain workshop to recognise wild herbs and learn how Sardinia’s centenarians used them to care for themselves. Then a fresh pasta workshop and lunch outdoors.
Sardinia, where a long life is simply everyday life
Here, being ninety isn’t remarkable. Elders still tend the vegetable garden, knead bread and expect everyone at the table by one. Nobody calls it longevity. It’s just how life goes.
Ogliastra, on Sardinia’s east coast, is part of the island’s Blue Zone, the first area in the world where demographers mapped such a high share of people reaching 100. In its mountain villages, life has kept its old shape: families close together, food from the land, walking as part of the day, and time always made for others.
On this retreat you won’t watch that life from a coach window. You’ll walk the hills beside a shepherd and his goats, learn which herbs grow on the slopes and why our grandmothers picked them, and shape pasta alongside hands that have done it for decades. Then you’ll carry it all back to the mat, morning and evening, with Wendy.
What stays with you isn’t a list of tips. It’s the feeling of a slower, fuller day, and the quiet confidence that you can recreate it at home.
Travelling with Longèra Journeys
Longèra Journeys was born from the vision of Annacarla Denti, a Sardinian native longevity researcher raised in one of the world’s renowned Blue Zones.
With a scientific background in biotechnology and research focused on Sardinian centenarians, Annacarla combines evidence-based longevity science with the authentic traditions of her homeland. After years of international experience, she returned to Sardinia with a mission: to transform the lessons of the world’s longest-living communities into meaningful travel experiences.
Inspired by science-based longevity principles observed in Blue Zone populations, Longèra Journeys curates immersive experiences that reconnect people with movement, nourishing food, nature and meaningful human connection.
Our philosophy is simple: longevity is not just about living longer, it’s about living better. Through carefully designed experiences rooted in culture, community and environment, we invite you to slow down, reconnect with what truly matters, and discover practical habits that can inspire a healthier, more fulfilling life long after your journey ends.
THE RHYTHM OF THE DAYS
A day shaped like theirs
Your mornings start on the mat. Wendy leads a first yoga session to wake up the body, then we sit down to breakfast together, unhurried, the way every day should begin.
Two days take us out into the Blue Zone. One with a shepherd in the hills, followed by a visit to the village of the world’s longest-lived family. One in the mountains, learning to recognise the wild herbs our elders relied on, before shaping fresh pasta and sharing lunch outdoors. These are not tours: they are invitations into real homes and real routines.
In between, there is space to breathe. One day is deliberately slow, with time by the pool or the sea, lunch at the hotel and a Blue Zone herbs skincare workshop in the afternoon.
As the light softens, we return to the mat for an evening session with Wendy, then gather for dinner, to share what the day has brought.
Nothing is compulsory. Join what calls you, rest when you need to, and shape the retreat around your own pace.
Yoga & longevity
The world’s longest-lived people never went to the gym. They walked the hills, bent to tend the garden, sat on the floor and got back up, every day of their lives. Strength, balance and flexibility weren’t a workout. They were simply how life was lived.
Science is now catching up with what Sardinia’s elders always knew.
27% lower risk of death
In a study of more than 55,000 US adults, people who practised yoga had a 27% lower risk of death over about nine years than those who didn’t.
Sheehan et al., American Journal of Preventive Medicine, 2026
Flexibility and survival
Among more than 3,000 middle-aged adults followed for nearly 13 years, those with the lowest body flexibility had a higher risk of death: almost twice as high for men, and nearly five times for women.
Araújo et al., Scandinavian Journal of Medicine & Science in Sports, 2024
Getting up from the floor
Adults aged 51 to 80 who struggled to sit down and stand up from the floor without support had up to five to six times the risk of death of those who did it with ease. Every point gained on this simple test was linked to a 21% lower risk.
Brito et al., European Journal of Preventive Cardiology, 2012
That’s why yoga sits at the heart of this retreat. Twice a day, Wendy guides you through practices that build exactly what these studies point to: strength, mobility, balance and breath.

Wendy
Longevity & Yoga coach
Wendy is a passionate guide in the art of longevity and holistic living. Her work brings together yoga, breathwork, mindset coaching and resilience training to help others reconnect with their natural vitality and rediscover what it means to live fully, for longer.
At the heart of her approach is yoga, where traditional vinyasa practice meets movement science. Through mindful sequencing, breath awareness and intelligent mobility work, Wendy helps her students build strength, balance and ease in both body and mind.
Her retreats are an invitation to slow down and reconnect, to move with intention, and to cultivate habits that support lasting health and inner calm. Drawing inspiration from nature, community and the timeless wisdom of the body, Wendy creates experiences that nourish every layer of being.
She believes longevity is not about chasing youth, but about deepening presence, purpose and joy in every season of life.
Annacarla Denti
Sardinian Longevity Researcher
Raised in Sardinia’s Blue Zone, Annacarla grew up surrounded by a culture of longevity, wellness, and community, shaping her belief that a long, meaningful life is rooted in balance, nutrition, and connection.
With a scientific background in biotechnology, Annacarla deepened her understanding of longevity through academic research focused on Sardinian centenarians and their nutritional habits. This experience allowed her to explore, from a scientific perspective, the fundamental role of diet, lifestyle, and environment in promoting long, healthy lives.
After gaining international experience, Annacarla recognized her true calling: to translate the timeless wisdom of her homeland into refined, transformative experiences.
What you will take home
You’ll leave with a new way of seeing longevity. Not as a list of rules, but as something the world’s longest-living people simply live: walking every day, eating simply, gathering around the table, making time for others. You’ll have seen it with your own eyes, in the shepherd’s hills, in a village of centenarians, in hands that still shape pasta the way they always have.
You’ll leave with small things to bring into your kitchen and your routine: the herbs our elders relied on, a recipe made by hand, the habit of slowing down for lunch.
And you’ll leave with people. A small group who shared the same table, the same mat and the same mountain paths.
You came for a retreat. You go home with a rhythm.
