Itinerary

A journey into Sardinia’s Blue Zone is more than a trip—it’s a return to a slower, deeper way of life. Over four days, we step into one of the world’s rare longevity regions, where living well into your 90s and beyond is part of everyday life.

After a warm welcome, we discover the principles behind Sardinian longevity before sharing a hands-on pasta workshop with a 94-year-old local nonna and enjoying a traditional centenarian-inspired dinner.

The following day, we explore the mountains on a donkey trek, connect with nature, enjoy local food traditions, and experience the unique voices of the UNESCO-recognised Sardinian tenores. Optional wine tasting offers a taste of the island’s renowned Cannonau culture.

Our journey continues with a full day alongside a local shepherd, learning traditional cheese-making, sharing a homemade lunch, and experiencing the authentic mountain lifestyle that has shaped generations of Sardinians.

On the final day, we visit the birthplace of Nobel Prize-winning writer Grazia Deledda, reflecting on the simplicity, resilience, community spirit, and deep connection to nature that have long defined life in Sardinia’s Blue Zone.

A unique immersion into the culture, traditions, and daily habits of one of the world’s longest-living communities.

Arrival around 14:00 and check-in at the bed & breakfast. A soft landing into the rhythm of the Blue Zone: welcome herbal tea, introduction to Sardinia’s longevity lifestyle, and the key pillars behind it. In the evening, we step straight into tradition with a 94-year-old local nonna guiding a hands-on fresh pasta experience, followed by a deeply rooted “centenarian-inspired” dinner where food, memory and culture come together.

After breakfast, we head into the mountains for a slow donkey trek along ancient shepherd paths, crossing wild, untouched landscapes and pausing for a simple countryside break. Around midday, we gather for a traditional shared lunch immersed in nature. The afternoon unfolds with a powerful cultural encounter with the “tenores”, the legendary Sardinian polyphonic singers whose UNESCO-recognised voices carry centuries of oral tradition — raw, emotional and deeply tied to the island’s identity. A moment where music becomes memory and heritage becomes alive. Later, there is time to unwind or enjoy an optional wine tasting experience before returning for a relaxed dinner in the village.

Today we step into one of Sardinia’s most symbolic longevity professions: the shepherd. Far more than a job, it is a way of life deeply connected to movement, nature, simplicity, and routine — all key pillars of the Blue Zone lifestyle. We spend the full day alongside a local shepherd, following his natural rhythm across the land, learning how this ancient profession has shaped generations of strong, resilient lives.

We take part in traditional cheese-making from raw milk to finished product, and join the daily milking ritual — simple, repetitive actions that reflect a life in constant connection with nature. Lunch is shared in the wild, prepared in a rustic and authentic way, surrounded by silence, open landscapes, and the herd. In the afternoon, there is space to slow down or, for those who wish, explore the impressive Ispinigoli caves before returning to the village for a relaxed dinner.

We begin the day at a slower rhythm, leaving the countryside behind as we head towards Nuoro, the cultural and intellectual heart of Sardinia. Here we explore its authentic character through its streets, traditions, and deep artistic heritage. We visit the world linked to Grazia Deledda, Nobel Prize winner in Literature, whose work reflects the soul of the island and its people. This final stop offers a deeper understanding of Sardinian identity, shaped by resilience, storytelling, and connection to the land. No lunch is included, allowing space for reflection before departure. A quiet, meaningful closing to the journey, carrying the essence of the Blue Zone experience back home.
